Doc apt issue...

Ok my husband just transferred to Palm beach Fire department from Monroe County Fire, when I called out old insurance Blue Cross Blue Shield and told them I was 6 months Prego and wondering if they would cover my last doc appt on the 15th of this month. They said if I'm not in labor than no. So our new Insurance with United don't take effect till the 1st of next month. So I had to cancel my 24 week appt. and I feel horrible cuz I hate missing an appt. the doc with out insurance is $125 but also need an ultra sound which is 160. I can't afford both right now, should I call back and just see this doc and miss out on the appt. or is it safe to wait till July 2nd for my new appt? Everything has been going great this far, just stuck and don't know what to do.
