A whole month before seeing the obgyn?!!

This is my 2nd pregnancy and I'm 4 weeks and 6 days. I called today to make my obgyn appt and they scheduled me for next month on the 6th. With my first I was brought in and seen the very next week and got put on my prenatal vitamins. I'll be almost 9 weeks by the time I go to the dr this time and that makes me nervous! I thought taking your prenatal early on in pregnancy was important for the baby since it's gonna begin developing it's vital organs? I'm pretty ticked off to be honest! Anyone else not have their first appt until a month after you called?
