Skipping infant car seat and going straight to a convertible?

This is my 3rd child. I believe my infant seat will be expiring soon (still have to check). Right now I have my 4 and 2 year old in a convertible seat. We just turned our 4 year old forward facing... And just so everyone knows she is not a big child... She just reached the max height in the convertible carseat at 40 inches tall and still only weighs 36lbs... We also have a car seat that is forward facing and still has the 5 point harness and converts over to use the seat belt... (high back booster). We were thinking about putting my 4 year old in that one using the 5 point harness still. And using the convertible one for the newborn (5-40lbs backwards facing). I am very short and petite and have always had a hard time lugging around the infant seat. With my second I bought a moby wrap and loved it. I hardly even carried him in the infant seat. I feel like this will be easier for me especially because I will have 2 other kids I will have to take care of to... Has anyone done this? Will I regret it? I am also due in January so I figured that the little one would stay warmer in the carrier... I have a mini van so I would probably just walk back there ( yea, I am 5 foot 1 and can basically walk back in the van) and put him in the carrier and unbuckle my daughter (from the back seat) before I even open the door...
