Period too long!!!

My sister recently just moved back in and now my period is almost 3 weeks long!!!!! Before it was only 3-5 days but now it's on day 17 and the heaviness differs each day! Will my sister moving back in have an effect on my period? Help me I need to know if this is normal and if it's happened to you or someone you know how long did it take to stop elongating your periods?
