My parents just wanted us to be happy. My husbands parents, on the other hand, pressured us CONSTANTLY to have kids...it was beyond annoying

My husband is 7 years older than I am and when we got engaged, his mom was pressuring us to get married. I wanted a long engagement, but she kept bringing it up, so I was like okay whatever. We got married. RIGHT AFTER we got married, she started on us about kids. Sorry, but this is my body, not hers! Although I'm ready for kids now, I wasn't then. I wanted go enjoy my marriage before kids came into the picture.

My MIL made it very clear that SHE was ready for grandkids, but also made it very clear that she wanted US to be ready first. So no pressure, really.

My father in law brought it up when we announced our engagement. :)
They are sweet people and lovely grandparents to my kids (from my first marriage). I wouldn't say it was pressure. But they've let us know they'd love for us to have kids.
