Not sure what I should do

I got an ultrasound today and dr thinks the baby is already very big. I'm 38w1d. He says he's already at 8 lbs and his head is 98%. they want to either induce me at 39w or have me schedule a c-section. The dr wouldn't make the decision for me but did say he didn't know if the baby's head will turn in my narrow pelvis. Then if he does turn and I'm able to push him out there's a fear of shoulder dystocia. We scheduled a c-section just in case but I am torn. On one side I want to make sure I do what's safest for baby but I'm not sure!
