Is it ever ok to talk to your Ex whilst in a new relationship?

I talk to many of my exes, mainly because our relationship was a while ago and we have no romantic feelings toward eachother. Would I talk to my last ex given the chance? No, not because of feelings but because he's an asshole and our relationship was a total sham. But I have one ex that I don't talk to simply because he says things that are inappropriate since I'm in a committed relationship. Just things like he still cares and loves me, he thinks about me a lot, stuff like that. I know who to not keep a platonic relationship with. And besides, my exes that I still talk to and hang out with are friends with my fiancé, they hang out when I'm not around lol.

Personal experience, it depends. I tried to be friends with one ex but he was a psycho. He kept trying to push a relationship, even though he's the one that destroyed it. Now I'm like best friends with my most recent ex. I'm currently living with him temporarily. He gushes about his current love interest, I talk about my guy. My guy knows and isn't even remotely possessive or jealous about it. Just because a relationship didn't work on a romantic level doesn't mean it should be completely given up on.

It depends. I talk to an ex because we have a child together.

I also am still friends with someone I've casually dated in the past. I think as long as your SO is okay with it, and there is no ulterior motive on either end, that all is good.

Me and my ex were best friends before we started dating and it was a mutual break up, as I left for the military and he didn't want to do long distance, and I didn't wanna force him just for him to resent me for it later. We still talk, maybe two or three times a week, and that's the only ex I talk to. My boyfriend knows and doesn't mind because he trusts me. Just depends on your SO, I think . If he wasn't comfortable with it, I wouldn't talk to my ex .

Of you broke up on good terms I dint see why not. I still talk to my soon to be ex husband, and a few of my exes, even guys I hooked up with. My BF talks to girls he's been with too. As long as there is trust and you know nothing more will come of it, I don't see why not :)

I said yes because I generally stay friends with my exes unless there are extenuating circumstances.  But we're strictly friends and that's something my significant other knows going in.
