Post Birth Control Syndrome

I was on birth control for over 6 months and the birth control I was on, lo loestrin, caused me to not have a period. I decided to get off of birth control because of the different side effects I've been having and now, 4-5 months after I've stopped birth control I still don't have a period and I'm not pregnant. I don't want to go back to the doctor to have her give me more birth control. Has anyone experienced this and do I need to be scared that I'll have trouble conceiving in the future?
