Paranoid or pregnant??

So I was suppose to get my period on May 30th. I've been on this new birth control for almost 2 months. Early this morning around 3am I had a bright red discharge and assumed it was my period and just put a pad on and went back to sleep. Now the rest of the day I had a very light brown discharge. My period is always regular but for some reason it's been weird because of the new pills. I took two pregnancy test and both came back negative. Does anyone know what this could be.
