How many ultrasounds during 3rd trimester?

Today makes me finally into 3rd trimester! I know every doctor is different, but how many ultrasounds have you had during this trimester? My last one was at 20 weeks. I'm anxious to see my baby again.

I have one scheduled in 2 weeks... My last one was 20 weeks (I'm currently 31) I'm so anxious! Would love to know what others say too

I'm currently 33 weeks 5 days and I won't be having another one unless they think baby isn't growing or if they're concerned about her being breech (which I'm pretty sure she is!). I've been dying to see her since my 20 week appointment, but my fiancé doesn't want me "wasting" money on a 4D ultrasound. 😠 Men...

I just had my first one today at 39 weeks. Just to check babies growth. I know in the uk they don't routinely do them after 20 weeks x

My doc does 3D every visit. Lol Germany is much nicer about stuff like that.

My doctor doesn't schedule any ultrasounds for the third trimester. They do them only if there is a reason, for example if you have complications or if they are not sure if the baby has turned. I did get one to see if the baby had turned, but it was different from previous ultrasounds I had had. She used the portable US machine and only really looked at the head and the heart. You don't get a full view of the baby anymore because it's too large.

In Sourh Africa you have an ultrasound monthly in first and second trimester. From 28 weeks you go every second week and from 36 weeks you go weekly. Therefore 5-6 scans in first and second, then another 8 in third trimester. Love seeing my boy so often! 💙💙💙

I am high risk so I've had 3 growth scans since 20 weeks. I also have weekly NST/AFI tests weekly and they always do an ultrasound there.

Most providers will not do another ultrasound after 20 weeks unless they are worried about baby's growth or positioning. Ask your provider!
