Is this a boil?

Its located on my left hip. It won't pop but it looks like it needs to. I soaked it in how water with a cloth and nothing. Please any help I would appreciate.

If it is, use Icthamol. It is sometimes refered to as black tar salve because of its color and consistency. When it's used, it will draw out the infection.

My gramma used it back in the 50s when she was a young woman, and i have used it on several occasions

Use Epsom salt and very warm, wet cloth. This is how my mom got rid of a boil when I was little. I still have the scar from it on my inner hip. Give it time.

Im tolerant of pain whenever i get one i stab it with a needle and squeeze everything out. To me it hurts more leaving it there.

They make a product called boil ease, you can find it at the pharmacy.  It helps bring boils to a head, and numbs it a bit.  I have heard tomato sause does a really good job bringing boils to a head to, but I have gotten mixed results with it.

I would watch it closely and maybe see your Dr just to make sure it isn't staph. I've had that and it was not fun. The Dr had to drain it for me because those boils can go really deep and you gotta make sure it all gets out. I let mine go way to long though because I thought it was just a spider bite that would go away. If you see the Dr now it will probably be easy peezy. I hope it gets better soon!

Definitely looks like one. I have folliculitous (however it's spelled) so I get them occasionally

I will also say this.....it could be a spider bite. I've had more than one. They looked similar to this. If the center gets blacker and starts to spread or break down, go to the ER. At that point you will need antibiotics.
