Could I be further along ?

Question

According to my last period I'm 30 weeks & 4 days. Today when I went to my appointment my midwife said I'm measuring at 32 weeks. Could I really be further along then what I really am according to my last period?

Fetuses and babies go through growth spurts like kids do. It's always possible to measure ahead or behind.

Not likely... The baby's probably just growing faster..

Maybe, maybe not. We'll never know. But we do know it's common to measure off by a week or 2 from time to time. Maybe baby was sitting weird, or maybe baby is bigger for other reasons.

Well I've been told by plenty of other mothers who have had more then 1 baby that there's a possibility that I could be further along then what they say. I know plenty of mothers who have been further along then what they thought.

Baby size is completely different from baby development. 
Just because you are measuring at 32 weeks, doesn't mean your baby is developed to meet 32 weeks. 
They also say that two weeks ahead or behind are common. 
I measured large with both pregnancies. My first was born at 40 weeks after being induced to preeclampsia. She was 10 pounds 
The 2nd I am still carrying and 34 weeks. She's measuring 2-3 weeks ahead. We will see how it turns out.
