It probably really depends on the person. 
Maybe I'd get creamated and say "give half my ashes husband #1, half to husband #2 and call it a day!" 😉

It really depends on your love and motivations. My grandmother remarried after my pa passed away. She married a widower, and their relationship was motivated by a need for companionship. While they care deeply for each other, they loved their first spouse and that is who they will be interred with.

It depends on the personal situation. If your first husband was a dick and you hate him. Then you pick the second. But say the first died of cancer and the second was just love you found after(using my grandfather as an example) you would be buried with the first. My grandfather is still going to buried next to my grandma even if he is with someone new.

It depends on how your arrangements are I've already talked this over with my hubby who ever does first the other will keep the ashes if if they remarry then when the other dies that person ashes will be mixed with the others ashes and made into a tree

My mamaws first husband passed away in a horrible car accident, years later she remarried. Well she passed away 3 years ago and was buried beside her 1st husband. She said that he was the love of her life and she wanted to spend eternity with him and not hubby #2

I know of several that get buried beside both, like one on each side.  It make alot of sense on the practical side.

My great grandmother just lost her second husband. She had a duel headstone and plot already purchased with her first husband who died many years ago. She and her second husband bought the plot next to hers and her first husbands. 2nd husband was buried there. She will be buried between the two.
