What do you guys thing my boyfriend means when he says he is trying to "fight old demons"? Does this mean he is experiencing some hardships? (We are also both very strong Christians)

Yes hardships, drugs, booze maybe an ex. Try to get him to open. Let him know you're there for him. I'm a Christian too and I have made some MISTAKES!!! Maybe he has too! Be supportive and helpful.
