Planned csection - alert after?

Question

Mama's who have had planned csections - were you awake / alert right after the surgery, in the recovery room?  What was the experience like?  I had an emergency last time and was so drugged up and out of it I hardly remember anything :(

I had an emergency csection with my first. I was alert for the entirety. Not too much pain, and during recovery I was so focused on being able to move my feet so they would take me to see my daughter.

My 2nd was planned following an emergency c-section with my 1st. I was much more alert & awake for the 2nd one since there wasn't hours of labor beforehand. It still stinks you have to go to recovery for approximately 45 mins after but then you get to hold your baby all you want (allowing there isn't any complications). My 3rd section is scheduled for June 29th cannot wait to meet our baby!!! Good luck & Congrats!

With my first I had an emergency csection and woke up 6hrs later. Didn't see her until I was able to get to nicu on my own. With my second which was planned I was up until I was finally reunited with my little girl. Hope this helps.

A planned c-section should leave you quite alert and with it afterwards ! You won't be tired orcon other drugs from having laboured first. My friend just had one and had quite a quick recovery too!

I had an emergency c section, but I was awake after in the recovery room, and I was really sleepy but I remember being in quite a bit of pain, but I was able to talk to my mom on the phone, and they took me to NICU on the bed, and for the next day after everything was hurting.
