Has anyone ever had a false positive?

I know they're extremely rare but I've went to the doctor twice in one month and tested negative both times when my pregnancy test read positive. I then tested twice a day later after my positive test and those came negative as well. I'm not ttc right now.. but I thought it was safe to say that I had a false positive. Or could I be wrong?

It's possible you could have had a chemical pregnancy as well.
