Should I see a doctor?

I'm 30 years old and seriously TTC for the past 6 months. I honestly was only on birth control for a year when I was 18. The past 2 years my husband and weren't trying to get pregnant but we weren't trying not to either. Should I be concerned and see a doctor? My husband has children from former relationships so I know he is able to have children so now I'm wondering if there is an issue with my fertility.

You know what knowing what I know now I was in the same boat a few years ago. And now at 33 I wish I would have just told my doctor 2 years ago I was "trying" for a year. I mean I was doing what I thought was the right thing at the moment.  Like you, we werent trying but we weren't being extra careful to prevent it. We did that for about a year then took a little break when planning our wedding then started trying hard after our wedding for a year with one miscarriage. I went to my 1st appointment with my fertility specialist last 2 months ago just to reveal after bloodwork, ultrasounds and an HSG test that I have premature ovarian aging (running out of eggs, the eggs you have arent "quality"), I have cysts and fibroids (never knew this), I might have endometriosis (never knew this) and apparently people with premature ovarian aging dont respond well to hormone therapy. So yeah go to the doctor and say yiu have been trying over a year. I mean I would still do ovulation tests and really try and I would go with some "data" but if you're in your 30's time is of the essence.  I with I knew this 2 years ago maybe I would have better chances. You have to be your own advocate and be assertive.

I wouldn't wait. The process can be long and it can be hard to get appts.

I am 33, only have one ovary and doctor is not concerned with our lack of successful pregnancy after 9 months. Typically they say one year for under 35 couples.
