Should I be offended?

Me and my boyfriend have been together for 5 months.
He lives with his grandparents, who I have not met yet.
I've asked him why and he said his grandma would judge me because of my tattoos and piercings...
I don't know if I should feel offended or.....?

You can't be mad at him for his grandma's attitude and opinion. He's just protecting the current relationship. If he loves there and she really does have an issue with how you look, it will incur serious stress on him...

Most of the older generation is more taditional or "not used to" that kind of stuff I think. It shouldn't matter if you have tattoos or piercings hopefully his grandma will love you because you love his grandson and are a good person.

The older generation are very set in their ways sometimes, and that includes preferences about how people should look and act. I think it would be worse right now to put him in the middle of his grandmother and his girlfriend. He probably has heard her mention her dislike for ink enough to know that she might not give you the respect you deserve. I'm sure you'll meet her one day, but for now, I'd trust his choice.

I think he should not care what people think of you. You're with him and he likes the way you are and that's all that should matter. I don't see why he should be hiding you. My husband's family doesn't like tattoos much either but when we started dating that didn't stop him from introducing them to his future wife. We're married now with an 8 month old and his family loves me regardless of my tattoos 😊. People learn to accept :)
