Painting a Crib?

Question

Wanting to paint an unfinished crib and wondering what would be best to use? Does anyone have experience with this? Looking at milk paint, chalk paint, and natural options like Lullaby.

We are painting an old ikea pine looking crib gray and will use chalk paint so no sanding needed!

We did a latex paint that was recommended for kids furniture then used a water based polycrylic top coat. It's what a lot of people use to coat their cribs so it's safe if the baby puts their mouth on it. That way the paint doesn't chip off somehow into their mouth.
