Birth preference and why?

Why have you chosen that? I'm wanting a natural birth based on the horror stories of epidurals and their side effects. What have been your experiences?

I personally wouldnt have a home birth. Giving birth is Messy and dont want to destroy my home, thats what hospitals are for.

I had a natural hospital birth with my son. It was wonderful in a lot of ways, but I was disappointed with the hospital staff and some of their procedures so I'm planning a home birth for #2 due in Feb.

Not all hospitals are created equal, though. Some, I'm sure, are great.

I want to go as natural as possible. If my mom's delivery of me is any indication I'll need a little kickstart in the beginning, no pain meds though.
In a hospital, in case something goes wrong like my aunt (placental abruption and bad hemorrhaging).

Wanted to go natural. Water broke two months early. I was put on antibiotics and pitocin and pain meds. Spent my whole delivery laughing like an idiot. My So, obgyn, and the pediatricians thought i was crazy. Everyone's reaction to drugs is different. But i delivered a now healthy 4 pound baby vaginally

I was induced with all three of my children, and had never felt natural labor until my last one where I had labor pains the day before they induced me..man, I SO wish I would've just had them natural..those natural labor pains were NOTHING compared to the ones they put you through with the pitocin..sure, epidurals are nice, when you have it done right..went smoothly the first time, they had a new guy the second time who poked me 5-6 times and once he finally got it into the right spot, poked too far and gave me a MASSIVE headache and they ended up having to put me on oxygen as I wasn't breathing..the day after I went home, I tried to sit up and my spine was on fire and I was paralyzed for a minute, then had back problems for a few months until I finally went to a chiropractor, which helped and I haven't had an issue since :) third time, it was the same guy who did my first one, and things ran smoothly, but I wish I had gone natural for all of them, as I believe it would've be a thousand times easier on my body than the drug induced contractions I had..

Ftm so I don't want a natural birth. They look & seem so painful. I dont want a home birth because so many things can go wrong & I don't want blood & fluid all over my house. I want an epidural for my first baby because I can't handle pain very well & I'm already scared shitless to give birth. I've also been in false labor for 8 hours with contractions 2 mins apart... It didn't really hurt but I still don't want to be pushing a HUGE head out of my vagina without an epidural cause that seems so painful & if you tear... Ugh just so painful.
