Would you be offended if your child's fathers father informed you that he will not call your child by his or her name that you and your fiance have chosen but he will call them by middle name?

Yes I would. Very rude and offensive. If you aren't willing to call my child by the name its two parents agreed upon, then you don't need to be around my kid. Besides that, it would be too confusing for a baby/child to go by two different names- the name the child was supposed to be called vs the name someone else makes up.

I voted yes but just out of curiosity what did you name your kid?

Things will change when the Baby is born. People are quick to judge names, but when you have a face and personality to associate with the name, it's completely different. Or they will find a nickname they adore. I think it's silly to insist they call a kid a specific name, (unless the name they want to call the kid is offensive).

I'm going through something similar with one of my parents. They decided they didn't like the name we picked so they refer to him as peanut... Not once by his name. It's upsetting, and I honestly don't know how I'll react once he comes.

Nope i wouldn't my middle name is Amy and somehow my dad totally bypassed my first name and has only ever called me Amy which is fine its also my name

Not really we are calling our girl Nevaeh violet. My dad has said he'll probably call her violet. named after her nan which I'm happy with :)

I wouldn't be offended.... My oldest daughter Lilly's middle name is my mom's middle name. My dad thought that was silly and that she did nothing to really have anyone named after her (he doesn't say that angry, just more confused I guess lol) so he's always called her Lilly Flanders... Why? NO idea.
My girls' dad had a girlfriend for a few years that taught them that stupid "bye Felicia" bs... So my 5 year old says it all the time, so my FIL just calls her Felicia now (her name is Hailey)
