When I was 1.5 years old my mother became pregnant with my little sister and married her father at 4 years old he adopted me. At 16 i became in contact with my biological father and met him at 17. I am now 12 weeks pregnant and my biological aunts are calling my child their great niece or nephew. Is it wrong of me to correct them and state that since they have not seen me in nearly 21 years they don't need to see my baby?

Giiiiirl. I would be doing the same thing. My dads side of the family won't even know that I have a child unless they hear it through the grapevine or see it on social media ( the very few of them that were able to get their friend requests accepted ).

I personally wasn't raised with them and when ( after 15 years of my life ) I tried getting to know them, it was the worst , most traumatizing experience of my fucking life. Their rude, insensitive, ghetto and just drama!! They talk shit about everything and everyone and frankly I think they were all envious of me and tried to take it out on me by getting revenge. I had to go through some tough times and I don't care if my kids never know they exist. My dad probably won't even know.

Whatever you think is best! You know what is best for your and your baby. But words are words, if they haven't put forth the effort to see you they will most likely do the same to your little one. But just breathe, which is easier said than done.

Thats a fact that your child would be their great niece and nephew. What is there to correct? If you do not want them in your life don't be around them. Telling them to back off is rude as hell.

I dunno how I feel about voting. My mom would be a better judge of this situation because she went through something similar. But I can say from experience from my own father, I would never allow him to be in and out of my babies life. They will know who he is, but I will not allow him to do to them what he has done to me.

I voted wrong, sorry! I automatically thought you meant they were being rude so I chose that before I looked closer lol. I'm in the same boat, but no one from that family has dared to claim my children as relation, but I refuse to speak with or see my bio dad. My step dad (I just call him dad) is the one that raised me and his family is my family. He's not even married to my mom anymore but he's still my dad, he claims my son as his grandchild and his family claims him also. If my bio dads family, who had nothing to do with me due to drugs, ever tried that, I'd be deleting them from everything (they live far away so no problems there) and not speaking with them. But that's my particular situation. I get where you're coming from completely.

I was in the same boat I just deleted them all off of my facebook and you know what they never even tried to contact me again. My father walked out of my life again 4 years ago and I won't let him be in and out of my children's life he did it to me I won't allow him to do it to them!

I said yes kind of rude but didn't see that they made no effort. If they had a way to contact you growing up and didn't then hell yeah you tell them but if they had no way to contact you then I would say it's rude.

Do what you think is best for your baby. If you think that your child should have the opportunity to get to know that side of the family then be the bigger person. It sounds like a lot of time has passed and they may be regretting not being in your life and are using your pregnancy to make up for it. Just my opinion😆

Also, try having a conversation with them. Try to get to know them, and let them know about your feelings regarding them not being present all these years. Be polite but honest. How it turns out depends on what kind of people they really are. But you will know that you made an effort.
