Baby number 2 same sex, ok to have a shower?

I'm pregnant with our second girl and my family wants to do a baby shower for me, my husbands family thinks it's rude to have one since the babies are only 2 years apart. I wouldn't mind a get together for diapers maybe but we have all the clothes from my daughter, 50% of them aren't even worn ...

If your family wants to have a baby shower than let them throw you one! Your husbands family don't have to throw you one or come to the one your family is throwing for you. Its whatever you want to do. Don't let anyone make you feel like you shouldn't have something special cause of their views

My girls will be 3 1/2 years apart so I'm in a very similar situation. Only difference is no one offered to host it - help, but not host. We don't need anything but I want to do something to celebrate. So, I'm hosting a coed party at our house. I don't have a registry but I included a note that for every pack of diapers they will get a raffle ticket. I'm actually more excited than I was for either of the two that people hosted for the first. I'm in full control of the decor, games and people invited. Do what makes you happy

If you family wants to do one then let them  it's still a new baby she should get gifts too even if it's a small shower.

For my friend who had the same thing go one we did a sprinkle. Which was just basically little stuff like diapers wipes bath stuff and whatever little things they wanted. But as everyone said if your family wants to do that so be it. Everyone's views on showers are different so everyone will have opinions!

I'm having another shower my son is 4 and all
I have of his stuff from last summer/winter. So we are getting the big things: crib, travel system and etc. We're hoping to get a good bit of baby clothes and essentials what we don't get we will buy.

Same boat...2nd girl, 2.5 years apart. Our first is an April baby, this one will be October, so seasons are different. We do need a few things. No one has offered, and I would never ask...
