17 percentile?

Question

I went in for a sonogram Wednesday where they said my LO is 5 pounds.  I met with my doctor today and she said that the blood flow to baby is normal and that the baby is measuring in the 17th percentile. I was wondering if anyone could explain what that means?

It Means That 83% Of Babies Are Bigger Than Your Baby At The Same Age. My Doctor Said My Son In In The 10th Percentile And Thats How She Explained It To Me

It doesn't mean a TINY baby. It means that out of 100 babies, yours will be the 17th smallest. Some babies are born on the 2nd centile and some on the 98th. It all varies. My daughter was born on the 25th and has remained on that and she's now 2 x

Means a tiny baby, if blood flow is good, and your fluid is normal, you may just make tiny babies. If your doctor isn't concerned, then usually you have no reason to be. Best of luck momma!
