Signs of a healthy baby?

I'm hoping to buy a Doppler here ok the next few weeks so that I can calm down in between appointments, but until then, are there any signs or ways to know that your baby is still healthy?

If you are already panicking I wouldn't buy the Doppler...it's not always easy to find the heartbeat and then it's going to worry you even more. Try keep your stress down...not good for baby!

You might as well get a fetoscope at this point. You should be able to find heart tones easily after about 20w. 1/2 the price and safer. You can use it anytime you want as long as you want with no exposure to anything.

I swore I wouldn't get one, but got given one with a pile of baby stuff. Came in handy when I ended up bleeding and couldn't get an appt for a scan till hours later! Relief! Don't really use it much as 32wks now and constantly feel baby move - thats good enough for me! Think it depends on how far along you are. If your feeling baby, I wouldn't bother :)

I bought one around 9 weeks and haven't had any problems finding the heartbeat. One day recently, around 17 weeks probably, it took me a few minutes. And I panicked for a brief moment. Hearing the baby everyday is a great feeling though. Maybe just wait until you're at least 12 weeks to buy one, just in case.

I did buy one it should be here Monday. I have a sister in law who is an RN so she can help me out to find the heartbeat. I also live in a small town where there isn't one. And the closest Doppler is 45 minutes away.
