Experiences with Paragard (copper IUD)?

Question

I'm looking for a non-hormonal birth control after my unpleasant experience with Implanon. My husband and I currently use condoms and spermicide but we've grown to dislike them.

Can anyone share their experiences using Paragard? I'm a little scared of the thought of using an IUD but I'm not seeing better options at this point beyond sterilization which isn't preferable.

I got my paragard in August and I love it! The insertion was the scariest part and it wasn't even that bad. My periods were a tad irregular for the first few months but I think it's because I stopped taking the pill the day I got my IUD. no issues at all! I have quite a few friends with paragard also and everyone is happy!

I have it currently. I had it placed in September 8 weeks postpartum. It took my body a bit to get back to normal. The first three months my period was 7 days of heavy bleeding and cramps, but by month 4 I was back to what I was use to back in my teens prior to any BC. My mood is sooooo much better off hormones and I can focus and get things done. I'm always on time and regular as well so that is helpful when waiting for it to start each month. Insertion was nothing...but I had just had my second baby lol.

Is that the 10 year or the 5 year I don't know the names of them I had the 10 year and got pregnant after 4 1/2 years it didn't move of slip out of place I didn't have a good experience but that's just me
