I grew up with a fairly religious family and everything that happened was always "God's plan" to them. Now that I'm older it really bugs me hearing it because I feel sometimes people use "God's plan" to not take responsibility for their own lives and actions. Whenever I talk to my mom about any problems going on with my marriage or anything really she always tells me to wait and see what God has in store for me, like I should patiently wait for things to fix themselves. I believe that God could be real and I pray a lot but I can't say that I'll ever be religious. My question here is, how do I tell her I don't believe in this plan she believes God has in store for everyone? I really don't wanna sound rude or hurt her feelings but I can't listen to it any longer.
