Is anyone exclusively pumping their milk? I can't take the nipple pain anymore.

I'm trying to exclusively pump... Hard work! Little man doesn't seem interested on latching but takes every drop I express. Breast feeding is by far the hardest thing I've ever attempted.

I am now. We were getting so good bf but my let down is so fast my baby chokes, I refuse to stop my milk flow. I originally started pumpin bc we were having latvh issues and I just continued for the purpose of giving my nipples a break. And for my sanity. Best thing I've done. I was unhappy breast feeding bc we weren't good at it. I continued to try though but decided my baby and I are happier just doing our thing. Bottle/pump during the day and sometimes bf at night. She is still getting my milk and fresh bottles at that. Do what will make u a happy mommy. You will have a happier baby.

It should not hurt to pump, so you might have the wrong size flange or something? Which pump do you have?

I have started doing this! It gives me peace of mind knowing that my baby is still getting my milk and all the nutrients he needs. BF on the boob was getting frustrating for both of us, we are much happier this way. You should try it! The only thing is you do have to pump frequently, if I don't I get engorged.

I used to but I went back to nursing her directly. I cannot describe into words how glad I am for doing that. Never going back!!!

I was for his first 4 weeks as he wouldn't latch. I kept persisting and now he's been latching for 3 weeks. Pumping was hard work I just set myself the small goal of 6 weeks then try and go 8 weeks and so on.

I was but now I  switched to doing both pumping and bf. I had a horrible time in the beginning and my nipples were killing me. I hated breast feeding and I would find that i didn't want to feed my child. If you want to exclusively pump you have to emulate an infant feeding schedule, which means pumping every three hours even in the middle of the night. I resorted to pumpin every three hours and once in the middle of the night because I was making so much milk. I have now switched to bf in the middle of the night bc I'm too lazy to clean bottles but I noticed my supply isn't as full as it was before. And bf got better. I'm at 10 weeks! I still pump/bottle during the day and bf at night. This is my happy medium and my baby is happier. If this is something you want to do! Give it a whirl. Bf was not my thing and it wasn't making me the best mommy I could be. Good luck to you!
