3d/3d ultrasounds ?

I keep seeing everyone get these new "high tech 3d/4s ultrasounds", the more I see them the more articles I read about how they are not safe. What do you think ?  Do you think they are really safe? Why do you think they aren't safe.

As an ultrasound tech I can assure you they are safe, ultrasound does not do any damage. 3D is when you see the baby in 3d with stand still images. In 4D when the baby moves you see it on the screen in 3d. It's like real time. No harm is done to baby with these images :)

They're completely safe. I'm in radiology. Ultrasound doesn't use radiation. How do you figure they're not safe?

I would think that if they aren't safe, the doctors offices wouldn't do them.

UltraSOUNDS use sound waves and convert those waves to an image. If you really thought an ultra sound was dangerous you would not listen to the radio, watch television, or use your cell phone :/ there is little to no radiation associated with an ultrasound. Seriously you get more radiation from a microwave. ;)

They're safe, but I think way too expensive and if you have an anterior placenta, it can block things.

I've not got the money for one. At my NHS anomaly ultrasound, they gave me pictures of my little guys face, front on (he was looking right out) and profile pictures too. They're not as detailed as a 3d/4d would be, but I think that's part of the surprise about seeing your baby in the flesh for the first time ☺️

I got a 4D with my daughter,we had 4 sessions,every week we had one,she just didn't want to show us her face! Then the last session she turned and she looked like an alien omg.

She looks nothing like that 4D.

I wouldn't get one with the new baby,total waste of money.

It is just as safe as an ultrasound you get from your OB or the hospital. As long as you don't get millions of ultrasounds you're fine. There's hardly and radiation. I just called and made an appointment for a 3D/4D/HD ultrasound and I'm so excited!

Performed in a doctor's office they are safe. Going to those outside "boutique" type places however is not safe in my opinion. You never know how much actual training those "techs" have...
