Names with a Hyphen or two first names?

Question

Do any of you have or are planning to name your baby a 2 part first name?
My name is Courtney-Hollis. (No middle name either!

My name is Mary Catherine. First and middle. No hyphen. I go by both. I love it.

If your not having a middle name, then i don't see what would be wrong with doing that. But jut like usual long names and other hyphenated parts, your child growing up and as a adult will most likely identify with the first name as any document won't leave enough room for the second half unless they dedicate it as the middle name which in that case it still would be getting bumped down from the first name. If that doesn't bother you that the second half won't be used as much  then I'd say go for it. But I'm curious why you would hyphenate it and not just make it a middle name since you won't be putting anything else for the middle name ?

I've been going back and forth between hyphenated first name and two middle names for most of pregnancy. I want to pass down my middle name which was passed down to me but the other middle name or second part of the first name is so perfect I don't want to leave it out. It's tough. But the government only requires a first and last name for their purposes. You can have as many middle names as you want for further identifiers.
