4th of July???

Do u think its okay to have a new born (a week old or less) around fireworks or loud noises or will he be crying ? My fam throws big bashes for the4th of july but im scared for my baby

I wouldn't do it. With my first we pulled off to the side of the road and watched a few (she was 6 weeks) but weren't any where near them. Think of how scared dogs get, can you imagine how that would be for a newborn? :(

I would be afraid it would damage his hearing. Maybe you could take him in the car and watch from a distance?

I say definitely no unless you have protective ear wear. Even then I prob wouldn't.

The make baby ear plugs they are a headband with protective muff like pads works for newborns I think by a brand called ebubs. Just search baby ear protectors. Then they should be protected.

I think that you will know once the baby is here. My daughter would have been perfectly fine, her cousin would have screamed and just stressed her parents out. Every baby is different so maybe wait until that week to decide if you can :)

I would worry more about the heat than the noise. You should as your pediatrician. One week old is so young.

It's YOUR baby who cares what anyone else thinks. I took my son on a boat at 3 months old and didn't care what anyone thought-- guess what he loves boats now, just like his mama!

I have a pair of ear phone things for my son called baby bans. They're like what people who work on tarmacs wear to protect their ears. We've had them since my son was about 1, he's going to be 6, we use them every year for monster trucks, and for the celebration of lights (fireworks in Vancouver) and he wears them. They stretch and are soft and squishy for them. They're quite good. They were expensive, close to 40/50$ I think but so worth the investment cuz we only expected them to last a year or two but it's been 5 now. We bought them from a store near my house called TJ Kiddies.
