Pregnant while grieving?

Question

Is anyone else pregnant and grieving? I lost my mom right before my wedding last year - to cancer in the matter of healthy to dead in 10 weeks, then both my grandparents who raised me as well passed away. Now this is our first pregnancy + my hormones + already emotional and have no family to turn to. Just the in-laws. I know it could always be worse but this is pretty difficult for me. Is there anyone else having a similar struggle?

Feel your pain hun x my momma passed away when i was 25 weeks. It sucks hey. We want to share our joy with our moms and there is a huge gap, just silly things like phonecalls about how things are going, knowing they understand more than anyone, but for me the most painful is the loss of my baby having my mom as a grandma as i know what a good job she did with my sisters children and feel so sad she wont meet my little girl. I lost my dad a few yrs back so it feels a bit of a double whammy and brought everything back. Ive come to the conclusion we are all stronger than we give ourselves credit for. Personally, im trying hard to focus on this little girl being the start of MY OWN family and raising her in a way that would make my parents proud. We can do this hun, we ve learnt from the best x keep your chin up and take each day as it comes xx

My mom passed away suddenly a month before I found out I was pregnant back in February. I can completely relate to how your feeling. It's not easy and my heart goes out to you. Stay positive for your little one growing.

I'm so sorry for your loss.  Although I haven't personally gone through this I hope you will get comfort from the fact that your mom and grandparents are looking over you and your baby even if they are not physically with you.

I am so so so sorry about your mom. 2 weeks ago my fiancés brother killed himself. He was only 22. It was really hard and it still doesn't feel real. I wish he would have made a different choice and been my brother in law and an uncle and had a great life. I am currently 10 weeks. I hope you are able to find peace. 💐

My grandfather died a week after I found out I was pregnant. I didn't get a chance to tell him because he got sick so fast. I was so worried about my grief negatively impacting my pregnancy. He died a week before Easter, and we had previously decided to share the news with our parents and siblings over the holiday. (The funeral was delayed until after Easter because if the holiday). We still told our immediate families, and they were so glad to have some happy news, especially my parents. I wasn't going to tell the rest of the family after the funeral, but my aunt guessed, saying I had that tired look of a newly pregnant woman. I was about five weeks by then. I felt better after sharing the news, and my grandmother was so happy to have a reason to smile. But I still get sad at times. I have to remember what my grandmother said: "When one life ends, another one begins."

I had a good friend of mine get hit by a car about a week and a half ago, and he died. One of my best friends mothers just passed away last Wednesday- she was like a second mother to me. I have been trying to deal with this all from 450 miles from where I grew up. It's been difficult because I can't be there. But I know being there will make me more stressed out... So I just watch videos and memorials on Facebook and cry when I need to. 😞

I'm so, so sorry for your loss. I am just over 17 weeks pregnant, and my mom just passed away last Friday. Being pregnant without her makes the pain and sadness of losing her all the worse. I hear it gets better with time, but important times like these are so difficult without your mom, aren't they? Hang in there...
