To pump or not to pump?

Shanna • Huge family.
After my son's 6 week growth spurt nearly killed me, I decided since I was going back to work at 12 weeks, and I wanted to build a stash to start pumping and freezing some milk every day. I thought that it would also help when the 3 month growth spurt hit... That way I could cut out the extra pumping when it started and I'd be ahead of the game with instant gratification during the growth spurt. I also wanted to get him back used to bottles of breastmilk for when I go back to work. So, what I do is feed him his morning feed on just one side, double pump about 5 ounces, put it in a bottle, go to lunch with SO and have him give the bottle and shortly after pump the 5 ounces again and freeze it when I get home. This has worked great until the past day or two (we are 4 days from 3 months) my 5 ounces has suddenly turned to 4 in the morning and 3 at lunch. I still freeze the 3 and give him the 4 in a bottle. Could this be the growth spurt starting, or do babies gradually increase the amount they drink?
