Wide awake at 2am?!
My 4 month old daughter typically wakes 2-3 times a night to feed but has always gone right back to sleep, so I can handle it. But the last two weeks, several nights a week, she gets up for her 1 or 2am feeding and is WIDE awake. I feed her both sides, swaddle her, rock her, lay her on my chest, nothing works. I don't turn on any lights, I don't talk to her or play with her but she's just wide awake and won't go back to sleep. Sometimes she'll even have her eyes closed but she'll keep turning her head side to side or lifting her head up. I can't just keep feeding her as I learned last night when she spit up.
Is this happening to anyone else? I've held it together this long with the night feedings and such, but between work and this new waking period at night, I'm finally completely exhausted. Please tell me I'm not alone. Does anyone have any advice?
I looked up sleep regression but she still sleeps for her big 5 hour stretch (7-12) without waking and still wakes on her normal schedule to feed. It's just that now she doesn't go back to sleep during that one feeding.
