Moms who have had their babies. Should belly button look this way?

My babies umbilical cord looks like it is going to fall of soon. He is almost 3 weeks old now. Does this look normal or should I call the doctor?

I would ask the doctor. Did he go in for his 2 week check up? It should have fallen off by now. I know they say to just clean it with water and soap dripping on it but we still do the rubbing alcohol.

You are NOT supposed to clean it with alcohol. It looks like it's about to fall off. Just keep it clean. Wash cloth and warm water just clean around it not actually on it. The middle part will turn brownish black and will also fall out sometimes. As long as you keep it clean and it's not pussing or foul smelling or red then it should be fine

It looks like it's going to fall off soon with my other three kids I was told to clean with alcohol and with this last one I was told not to and I fell off sooner then with achohol

The inside looks wet to me. My daughters just fell off at 2 weeks and before it fell out it looked really dry. I was told not to put anything on it.

Have you tried cleaning it with alcohol? It kind of looks like it's stained his shirt leading me to think it's "wet", rather than drying out like it should..and I was told if there was any sort of discharge, to call the doctor. So I would call just to see what they say.
