First doctors appointment, is this normal?

I went to the doctor to confirm my first pregnanvy (which they did through a urine test) and that is all they did.  I am  5 weeks and 5 days along but won't be seen again for my "work up" until I am 11 weeks and I won't actually see my Dr until I  am 12 weeks, is this normal?

Yes, that's exactly what mine is doing as well. It kinda sucks but it's normal if you arn't considered high risk :)

My first pregnancy was exactly like that as well. Until something, God forbid, happens to where you're considered higher risk that'll be when they would want you monitored more closely. Like now with it being my 5th pregnancy (3 miscarriages and a blood disease) the routine has changed because I'm considered higher risk.

That is all they did at my first appointment too. I will go back at 8 weeks for my first ultrasound. Three weeks seems so far away!

I am considered high risk so I got an ultrasound and all that but with my first child, thats what they did. Nothing terribly special. congrats!

So I am a first timer too. Today I am 5 weeks 2 days and I don't go to my first obgyn appt til I'm about 8 weeks (July 8th). I went for two blood tests at a lab and my obgyn office reviewed them and said all looks good (I found out I was preggo 5/18 and had pink spotting for two days which is why I went for blood work). It's weird to me to wait, but at this point there isn't much to do!

Also, everyone told me it's normal to have to wait and my doctor told me to "sit back and enjoy the fact I'm pregnant!"

Crazy person confession: I called my mom today worried/confused that I just wait for this appt... I know this sounds really crazy, but I feel like I could just become "unpregnant" haha. I think I need to see more than my obgyn 😉

Yeah that's pretty normal early on.
