What not to say to someone who's had a miscarriage.

So today one of my close friends said to me 'atleast you weren't that far gone and you weren't excited yet'
6 weeks or 6 months it's still heartbreaking.

Have you ladies had anyone say something insensitive? I

"You'll get another chance."
I didnt want another chance, I wanted this one.

"Did the doctors give you a reason? You didn't have any cinnamon or herbal tea did you?"
No! It just happens. I did everything right, vitamins, no caffeine, no drugs, no drinking, only ate organic food. Stop fishing for a reason because I'm already driving myself crazy thinking it's somehow my fault

At least you know you can get pregnant now!

"Well that sucks, you can always adopt!" I never wanted to slap someone so hard!!

-"It's better this way, you don't want to bring a sick baby into the world." "You can get pregnant again." "It wasn't meant to be." Now that I'm pregnant again someone said "you just needed the right sperm and egg!" Umm.. Ever hear of "congratulations"?! The children I have lost through miscarried are irreplaceable. They were unique little beings that are gone. Having other children won't replace them, and no, I don't care if they were sick. They were my children, and I loved them. The best thing anyone told me was "I am grieving with you". And I hold special memories of the people who sat with me and cried.

Yes. My first baby was 8 months old when I lost my second baby at 8 weeks & my sister just said "well it's soon anyway!"  I just said its wasn't actually because we wanted our children close in age. Xx

I had to hear "be happy you already have three kids" or "see you can still get pregnant with one tube"( had a removal of one tube after ectopic in January) or "maybe next time" then I had someone telling me "why do you want to have more kids be happy with what you have"

"Well it's partially your fault for being on birth control. It probably did something to your body"

"Did they give you a reason?" 
"Could you wait longer?"
