Is it okay to drink alcohol (glass wine or beer) during the 2 weeks waiting to take a pregnancy test?

My OB told me not to worry about drinking a glass or two of wine or beer after ovulation week while waiting to take a pregnancy test before my period starts. She said as soon as a positive pregnancy test appears is when you need to stop drinking (of course). I trust her but am interested to hear what you think?

Drink till it's pink!! I don't mean getting waisted but a few bevvies won't hurt. During the TWW the placenta hasn't formed so if there is a fetus, it's not feeding off you just yet.

A lot of people say it's fine and I use to agree. I did come across an article though that said if you are trying to get pregnant that drinking alcohol can lower your fertility by 60%. I was shocked to have seen such a big number, so I stopped drinking the second I read that. I hate to be such a negative nancy, I'm just trying to look out for us all.

As long as you aren't over doing it I don't see the problem. But if you find out you are definitely cut the bad habit out.

It's fine to drink a little. There's no placenta yet and the ball of cells likely still haven't even attached to your uterus. I wouldn't go crazy or anything, but a glass or two of wine will be fine. You also only have like a 25% chance of being pregnant. Just don't drink it after your positive.
