Best infant car seat?

This is a huge debate in my family and I'm not sure what to get.  I want the safety of my child, but also something I can easily use.

My friend is certified in car seat safety and installations. She was taught just months ago that any car seat on the market, regardless of price or brand, is as safe as another. The ones with add 'safety' features are not necessary. Basically if a car seat could be made safer, it would be a requirement for all car seats to have that feature or be up to that standard. So the extra safety features they may have did not make them test any better in crash testing.

All car seats pass the same safer tests. Some just have more bells and whistles and that's what you pay for. A $40 car seat is just as safe as a $240 car seat.

We are personally getting the Britax 35. I hate grace and Chico for absolutely no reason and wish I knew why they were immediately a no-go.

My mom bought the graco forever car seat for our baby. It is one car seat they can use until they no longer need one. It costs $279 but well worth it in my opinion.
