Elective C-Section

I'm a FTM, and currently I want to have a c-section. However, I realize that the only reason I prefer c-section over vaginal birth is because I'm so terrified of pain. But a c-section is still a major surgery and not to be taken lightly. So I've decided to do further research and seek out opinions of mommies who did have a c-section.

Could you share your experience? Complications? Recovery? At home/post op? Etc? I know it'd be smarter if I do my research and come to a decision based more on just me being a wimp when it comes to pain.
