hypnobirthing?

anyone here try hypnobirthing? did you like it? did you take the class or read up on it on your own? links or websites with good info? i did bradley with my first but i'm interested in looking into hypnobirthing this time!

I used hypnobirthing during my labor. I downloaded at-home hypnobirthing tracks through Amazon. I listened to the tracks during my showers and before falling asleep each night. I started the process at about 25 weeks. I had a really supportive husband and birth center staff. With the support people and hypnobirthing, I had a natural birth. I listened to the hypnobirthing tracks on the way to the birthing center (75 miles). However, I listened to a calming pregnancy CD once I was at the hospital and had consistent contractions because I didn't want to be told how to breath at that point. I walked around, leaned over chairs, had a shower, and breathed through contractions. My goal was to have a water birth so I practiced breathing my baby out. I delivered 5 hours after getting to the hospital so I didn't get a water birth. I was pushing in bed. Practice and prepare for multiple delivery options.

I've only taken the first trimester part and it cut back morning sickness 50% and the other 50% I was distracted at work or traffic and couldn't calm down in time. I haven't given birth yet but I will do hypnobirthing.

I've been doing the at-home course and would love to hear someone's experience with it during birth! I get the theory and it works when I'm listening to the CDs - but I wonder how the reality works out in the delivery room.

I read the hypnobirthing book but couldn't find a class that was good timing for me. I opted to do the hypnobabies home study course. Just started and I'm loving it! It's very similar to traditional hypnobirthing, but there are some minor tweaks in method and practice. Definitely worth checking out!
