My water broke just before 1 am on Father's Day. Because I was trying a vbac I was recommended to go into the hospital by my doctor after 12 hours if labor didn't start, which it didn't. I fought to try to have a natural birth for almost 48 hours until I accepted that I would not get my dream of a vaginal birth. My doctor, amazing as he is, gave me a wonderful experience for a belly birth as he says it:) they lowered the drapes so I could see my son as soon as he was born. They did the apgar test right away and then my husband got to cut his cord, wrap him up and I got to snuggle with him until it was time to move. As soon as I was in my room I got skin to skin and started breastfeeding. Although it was not the delivery I planned on, it was a beautiful moment and time we got to meet our son:)
