Tried for 3 years and now I'm pregnant. Oh and here's the kicker....
My husband and I tried for three years to get pregnant. We had even started to see a fertility specialist. I was told I had a low ovarian reserve. And my husband and I might not be able to conceive on our own.
I was about to go in for my AFC procedure. When my period was late. I had to cancel my appt.
Now 3 days late for my very regular period. I decided to take a test. It came up postive within 20 seconds. I was so overjoyed I called my husband sobbing of course.
Now here is the kicker! I have an identical twin. My best friend. We are 9 minutes apart. She's had 3 children almost back to back. No fertility issues there. So I had to tell my sister asap.
So after work I was driving home. And decided to surprise my twin with the good news! As I pulled up to her driveway I noticed she was waiting for me. And she looked rather upset.
As I walked over to her with a "gift" (my positive pregnancy test). She said "you know don't you? Mommy told you.".
I had no idea what she was talking about. So of course I said no. Than she exclaimed. I'm pregnant. And began to cry. Knowing I had been trying to get pregnant for over 3 years. And she had gotten pregnant without trying. I could see how guilty she felt. I told her it was ok. And I had a gift for her. She seemed stunned at how well I took her news.
I quickly handed her a small black bag and urged her to open my gift. As she opened she yelled "oh my god! Oh my god! Your pregnant!" She practically jumped on me wailing and sobbing. I was sobbing by then too! I couldn't believe it! I get to be pregnant with my best friend. Identical twin! And we are even due on the same day. I know it's hard to believe. But we experienced a miracle. And I'm so excited to share this journey with my twin sister.
