Elective C-Sections?

Question

Is anyone choosing to have a c-section rather than vaginal birth? I really want one and plan to speak to my doc about it next week.

There are so many horror stories about c sections, they aren't that bad I've had 2 vag births and one cs , I'd rather the cs , in an hour you have baby in your arms , if she wants cs it's up to her , you can't say one is better than the other , to each her own, her body her decision.

I have had c-sections with my first two and will have a c-section with this one as well. The reason I had my first cesarean is I have a lot of back problems & my knees dislocate easily. After talking to my OB & Midwife about these issues they felt it was best for me to have a c-section. I feel that if a mother would prefer to have a c-section whatever the reason then she should be allowed to do so. We are one of the only countries that force women to deliver vaginally unless the OB decides that there is a medical reason to perform the c-section prior to labor or after the mother has tried to deliver vaginally and there are complications. I think it should be up to the mother after she is given all the information and risk on vaginal and cesarean births and let her decide what is best for her and her baby.

Had c section with my last and vag with my first 2 , csection not so bad , I was out in 2 days and fine after , doing it this time also

4 vaginal births and praying #5 will be too!!!!  I would never elect to be cut open to deliver, but if necessary of course I will without hesitation.

Second time mom here, had an emergency csection with #1 and would love to have vbac with this one. It's ultimately safer for mom and baby unless medical reasons prevent vaginal birth from being possible. Do not elect to do a csection, trust me the recovery is rough and it's much scarier. I am praying I can have this baby vaginally, but following  the docs lead........

38 and approved for a vbac and I am super excited. Of course my personal opinion but I hated the recovery process after the c-section. I like to be able to get up and move around freely without restrictions. However if this is how you feel and your doctor is on board, then I wish you luck.

I'm having a c-sec. I was in labour 36 hours only to find out my pelvis is tiled and my LO was stuck. Not going thru that again. 
If I had the option I would try vag first.

Is there any particular thing your worried about??

I have had two C-sections and will have one again with this baby. The first was an emergency and then I decided to do the same with the second even though I could have had a vaginal birth. I think it depends a lot on your doctor. Some don't have a problem with it. Good luck!!

A C-section sounded good to me, too, until someone told me what it was really like. Recovery is not fun, the actual procedure isn't comfortable at all, and one mom told me that it was traumatic for her husband to see his wife's intestines on a table. After I heard that I think I'd rather try for a vaginal birth!
