What was the reason? I was suspended for punching a girl after she called me 'retarded' for about the 20th time and my mom honestly where not upset.

It would totally depend on the situation. I always tell my kids they're never allowed to start a fight, but they're absolutely allowed to defend themselves if/when necessary.

It would completely depend on the situation. My mother always told us kids, you never start the fight, but if someone puts their hands on you beat their ass.I was suspended multiple times for fighting, I can honestly say I never swung first, but yes if you raise a hand to me I'm beating your ass. I did get expelled for fighting and sued by the girls parents and the school (<for damages ). My mother was pissed when I called her and told her to come get me, thinking I started it. But the school had cameras and even the teachers who tried to break up the fight ensured I did not start it. At that point my mother was fine and I know this sounds bad, she even seemed a bit proud. And the girls will be raised the same, they will know hitting is not okay, but you have every right to defend yourself!
