I'm not having a second baby shower. I was always told it's rude or tacky to have more than one.  Traditionally you should only have one with your first. I've known people to have one with every baby but Unfortunately they had a very poor turn out.  However it's your life and your baby... Do what you want.

Why not a diaper party the second time. 
Use the first one as one for gifts and the second one for diapers and things like wipes. ... Things you'll go through a lot of so can never have enough.

I think it depends how far apart your children are. If they're only 2 years apart, you still have everything you really need. If they're 5+ years apart, you probably don't have everything. A family friend is having a shower for her 4th baby because her youngest is 11 and she gave away all of her baby stuff years ago.

I had my daughter at 19 and I only had a small shower with my family. I am having my second daughter 7 years later and my friends are throwing it for me. I don't think it's weird at all
