Metformin makes irregular periods worse...?????

I have had irregular periods all of my life when not on BC. I was recently diagnosed with PCOS to which my OB/GYN responded by putting my on Metformin. While on Metformin I skip my periods all together. I call my dr and tell her I am over it and let's just jump to clomid and she wanted me to continue until my next scheduled appt 6 weeks from that point. Well it makes me super sick so I just stopped taking it. Well now my periods have returned. Has anyone else gone from few periods to no periods while taking Metformin? All I have done is cut back on my carb intake and my periods have started to regulate! 😊
