Colposcopy while pregnant?

My OB ordered one for me and I'm really nervous about it. I'm scared to see any amount of blood while pregnant and I know with them having to take biopsies from my cervix, it's possible. Has any of you had one while pregnant? Any advice on how to relax? I'm scared :/

I had one pre-pregnancy and they did take a biopsy, but I dont remember any bleeding afterwards. Our cervixes are so sensitive during pregnancy, that you may bleed. It is scary, but make sure you ask your doc lots of questions about what to expect, when to call, etc. They will tell you what is normal or not. Good luck!!

All they do is look at your cervix under a microscope. No blood =)

I had one at almost 12 weeks...he did take a biopsy...they use this solution so you don't bleed...but the discharge 4 days later is weird( just a heads up)...almost like a paste from the stuff they used to stop the bleeding...I googled it and from everything I read it was normal...keep your chin up...I was so afraid of cervical cancer but all went well for me...you wanna talk about a two week wait...longest wait ever! I have to go back when 6 months prego but my obgyn said they won't bother my cervix again so late into my pregnancy...sorry this is so long...I was so nervous but everything came out ok for me....prayers for you too!

I had a colposcopy done and they biopsied 3 sections. This was prepregnancy so I don't know if that alters the procedure, but I did had minor bleeding and cramping afterwards. It wouldn't be a whole lot so hopefully that will provide some comfort.
