I'm worried I may have an ectopic pregnancy!!!

I had a faint positive hpt. Then got my period and it came and went in a few days but it was very light, not normal for me. But I've been having this pain on my left lower side, where my tube would be. It started before my period and I thought it may just be a cyst as I have a history of them. But the pain won't go away!! It's not horrible, just an irritating pain! Feels kind of like a ligament pain. I don't know what to do, I have never had an ectopic pregnancy! Would my hpt be positive or negative? Can you get your period while having an ectopic? Any of you ladies had one that could offer some insight?!
