How long did you wait to take a pregnancy test after sex/ovulation?

My husband and I have been trying all week during ovulation. I'm hoping after reading many success stories I'm wondering how long I should wait to take a pregnancy test.

I don't know how many DPO but was the day before my missed period. (More than 10 DPO from memory).

Ten days from last period day or ovulation?  Sorry got to clarify I'm excited to know and not a very patient person lol

I tested 7-10days after ovulation but stipp neg with the strip, had to go to the hospital for a fever check and did a blood test an found out i was preg.

I didn't find out till a month later. Because I didn't think I could get pregnant. But I believe the earliest you can test is 7 to 10 days or more after
